The high localization level of 95% has definitely paid a huge role in bringing down the service cost of the Skoda Slavia
Launched recently, the Skoda Slavia becomes the second model in the Czech carmaker’s lineup to be based on the MQB-A0-IN architecture. The Rapid-replacement is on sale in a price range of Rs 10.69 – 17.79 Lakh (ex-showroom) and needless to say, it is slated to play an important role in helping the carmaker consolidate its position in our market. The Slavia locks horns with the likes of Maruti Ciaz and Honda City, which means a competitive service cost is going to be a prerequisite for the Skoda Slavia to offer. With the recent announcement, however, it looks like Skoda Auto India has all the bases covered with a claimed service cost of as low as 46 paise per kilometre.

Skoda Slavia Service Packages
The attractive service cost of Rs 0.46 per kilometer is calculated based on an ownership duration of 5-years/75,000 kms. Moreover, the Skoda Slavia comes with a standard warranty of 4-year/100,000 kms, along with an option to extend it to 5 or 6-years with 150,000 kms mileage (whichever comes first). Additionally, the customers can benefit from an even lower overall cost by opting for the Skoda Supercare pre-paid packages that start as low as Rs 24,999. Available in Standard, Enhanced and Comprehensive options, these maintenance packs cover a host of limited and extended wear and tear items under the predefined maintenance costs.
Through this, the customer enjoys a price protection against inflation and other cost fluctuations, thereby benefiting from peace of mind and a hassle-free ownership experience. Furthermore, these packages even help enhance the resale value as these benefits are passed to the new owner of the vehicle. To further ensure a smooth ownership experience, the Slavia is available with a host of standard and optional extras under the carmaker’s ‘Peace of Mind’ campaign.

Specs
The Skoda Slavia went on sale on 28 February and is available in two variants – 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol. The former outputs 115PS-178Nm, while the latter offers 150PS-250Nm. While both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, there’s a 6-speed torque-converter automatic and a 7-speed DSG option for 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engine variants, respectively. Later this year, the Slavia will be joined by its VW-badged sibling that recently debuted under the Virtus moniker.
