Skoda Slavia has been launched in the Indian market as the premium mid-size sedan competition against the likes of Hyundia Verna and Honda City.
The maintenance cost of the all-new Skoda Slavia is quite surprising. The products from the Czech carmaker has been quite infamous for being draining to the pocket. The spare parts and maintenance costs were quite high for all the previous generation models. However, with the MQB A0 IN platform and the heavily localised 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, these cots have come down considerably. Here is an example of this.

Skoda Slavia 4-Year Maintenance Cost
Skoda Slavia has announced the prices of all the variants. However, what makes the entire proposition of buying the Slavia even more attractive is the 4-year maintenance package that the sedan could be had with. The 4-year package will cost you only Rs 24,999. This brings the average cost down to mere 46 paisa/km. This includes engine oil, spare parts and labour charges. Now, while it may not be super cheap, it is certainly much more affordable than what Skoda products used to cost earlier. Offering such beneficial offers would help Skoda to establish a better relationship with the Indian customers to pull them away from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Even if one doesn’t opt for the package, the cost of spare parts and repair has been brought down by Skoda after the Kushaq was introduced.
Specs
The Slavia comes with a 1.0-litre three-pot motor that offers 115hp-175Nm, while the bigger engine displaces 1.5-litre and churns out segment-leading 150hp-250Nm. It also offers cylinder deactivation technology to optimize fuel mileage. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard but buyers can opt for a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre motor or a 7-speed DSG with the 1.5-litre mill. Later this year, the Slavia will be joined by a VW counterpart in the form of the Virtus, which will be sold with the same specifications. The prices of the Skoda Slavia start at Rs 10.69 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 17.79 lakh, ex-showroom.
