In a sad incident, a Skoda Slavia hits a dog on the road and sustains injuries. Stray animals appearing in front of cars on highways is a rather common affair. Hence, unfortunate incidents due to them are not that uncommon. Skoda prides itself on building strong cars with a prime focus on safety and driving dynamics. That has been proven in many instances. However, the Czech carmaker is infamous for having exorbitant repair costs which is proven in this case as well.

Skoda Slavia Hits Dog
The video has been uploaded by Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. This channel features content around road safety and the performances of cars during unfortunate scenarios. As per the information in the video, this incident occurred in the Salem district of Karnataka. A Slavia owner was travelling on a highway at around 80 km/h when a dog appeared in front of the car suddenly. Unfortunately, the sedan ended up hitting the dog. We can understand what would’ve happened to the dog after getting hit at such high speed.

Talking about the damage to the car, the front left side of the bumper was affected. There were other minor dents on the front section as well. The owner took it to the service centre for repair. However, the dealership quoted a repair cost of a jaw-dropping Rs 60,000. More shockingly, the labour cost in this amount was Rs 30,000. Thankfully, the owner had insurance which covered this amount and the owner just had to pay a nominal sum of Rs 3,000 as filing charges.

Ownership Costs of Skoda
While Skoda has worked a lot on bringing the ownership costs of its products down in the last couple of years, there are still cases of such exorbitant amounts charged to its car owners for relatively minor repairs. Such costs continue to bother potential customers. If Skoda aims to sell more of its incredible products, the repair costs need to go down further. Let us see how the carmaker deals with it in times to come.
