Exhibiting great after-sales support, Skoda India has given a brand new car to a Skoda Slavia buyer whose sedan burnt down to ashes for no apparent external cause
Late last month, we reported how a Skoda Slavia that was in a parked state caught fire and burnt down to ashes. The incident was pretty alarming, considering that the car was not fitted with any aftermarket accessory or had any sort of modifications. It was also parked at a place where there was no fire hazard. The mishap left its owner baffled and heartbroken. However, Zac Hollis, the former Director of Skoda India, had promised assistance. And now, less than a month since the issue was reported, the aggrieved Slavia owner has been given a brand new car free of cost!

Skoda Slavia Catches Fire in Parking
The video seen below shows the owner of the Skoda Slavia explaining his ordeal. He says after driving home one day, he parked his sedan around 10 PM. At 3 AM, he was woken up by his society’s security to tell him his car was on fire. Quite obvioysly, he was shocked at the fact that the car caught fire 4 hours after it was parked. The car was totally engulfed in fire by the time he could reach the spot.

The owner explains in the below video that his parking lot is directly below his resident. However, the car’s front and rear sections were completely burnt down by the time he could reach. In the minutes to come, every inch of the sedan was on fire. A fire extinguisher that was available to him was put to use but to no avail. The owner then shows the damage on the car. As you can see, the entire car has burnt down. In fact, one can’t even easily recognise the car model. Finally, the fire brigade was called and they were able to douse the fire completely.

The owner informs that the dealership staff was very supportive but asked the owner to remove the Tweet on this issue. In fact, even his insurance claim was quick to be processed. He reports that the dealership staff was supportive throughout the entire process. What’s even more heartening to see is that Zac Hollis assured support in spite of being at the end of his tenure. And finally, it looks like the entire ordeal has come to an end as a new Skoda Slavia was recently given to the aggrieved customer absolutely free of cost. This surely goes on to show the customer-centric approach of the Czech carmaker. We’re sure that incidents like this will help Skoda India bolster its position in the market.
