Bookings for the BS6 Superb facelift are on at Skoda India’s official website and it will be available in two variants – Sportline and L&K – with key visual differentiators.
Skoda showcased the 2020 Superb facelift at the Auto Expo this year and now, the company has opened bookings for the same. With dealerships shut due to the lockdown, bookings for the BS6 Superb facelift can be done at Skoda Auto India’s official website for an amount of Rs 50,000. In fact, Skoda has also opened bookings for the Karoq and the BS6 Rapid 1.0L TSI on their official website. All three cars will be launched in succession soon after the lockdown with the Superb facelift leading the pack. Deliveries will commence shortly after as well.
Skoda has revealed several other details about the India-spec Superb facelift as well. The Superb will be available in two variants in India – the luxury-oriented Laurin & Klement (L&K) and the sportier-looking Sportline. If you opt for the L&K variant, you will have five colors to choose from – Lava Blue, Moon White, Business Grey, Magic Black and Magnetic Brown. However, if you go for the sportier looking Sportline variant, you will not have so many color options to choose from. You only get three color choices here – Race Blue, Moon White and Steel Grey. We wish the red color of the Superb Sportline as was showcased at the Auto Expo was also made available to the customers.
There are quite a few visual differences between the Sportline and the L&K variants. The Sportline variant gets a blacked out grille, black ORVMs, a contrast roof and gloss black inserts on the bumpers and along the window line as well. The L&K variant gets chrome for all the gloss black trim on the Sportline variant like the grille, bumpers and windown line. The ORVMs are however body colored in case of the L&K. Also, the alloy-wheel designs for both variants are very different. The Sportline gets very sporty looking alloys while the L&K takes a classier approach. On the inside, the Superb Sportline gets an all-black theme, and contrast red trim to accentuate its sportier persona.

Under the hood, the Skoda Superb facelift will be powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine instead of the outgoing BS4-spec model’s 1.8L petrol engine. The engine produces 190hp and 320Nm of peak torque and it will come mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox which has been carried over from the pre-facelift car. The new Superb is expected to be a little more sprightly in terms of performance than its predecessor. And as we have already reported, there will be no diesel engine option for the new Superb.
