When everything around is in a standstill, there’s some good news for you car enthusiasts out there. The 2020 Skoda Octavia RS 245 has just started reaching the dealership stockyards. The Skoda Octavia RS 245 was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2020 and was launched at the event itself for a price of Rs 36 lakh, ex-showroom, India. Skoda had opened bookings for the Octavia RS 245 on March 1 and the deliveries were supposed to begin in early April but with the coronavirus lockdown in place, the deliveries had to be postponed.
However, now that the Octavia RS 245 have reached the dealership stockyards, you can expect Skoda to commence deliveries as soon as the lockdown ends. The Octavia RS 245 coming to India is actually a part of the last batch of the current-generation model. Out of this last batch, only 200 units have been allotted for India and its coming via the CBU route. The current-gen model will be replaced by a new-gen model this year itself.
The Skoda Octavia VRS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which now puts out 245hp and 370Nm of torque (15hp and 20Nm more than before). The engine comes paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and the car can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 6.6 seconds. The previous car did it in 6.8 seconds. The top-speed remains identical at 250 kph.

On the inside, it features Alcantara sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit system and nine airbags. Skoda has also confirmed there will be five colour options in total for the Octavia RS 245 – Rallye Green, Race Blue, Corrida Red, Magic Black, and Candy White.
