The month-on-month sales of the Skoda Octavia prove it is better and the sedan beat the Toyota Corolla and new Honda Civic in July sales.
The popularity of D segment sedan is diminishing from the Indian market and it is the sales which matter in the end. However, that doesn’t stop the car manufacturers from bringing in cars and here we have the sales figure of Skoda Octavia for the month of July.
Skoda Octavia grabbed the spoon for the top position in July sales. The sedan beat the popular Honda Civic and the old Toyota Corolla. Hyundai Elantra got the last position by selling just 54 units of the lot.

Skoda Octavia saw degrowth of 11% for the same month last year but bags the first place when compared to its competition. The brand sold about 220 units of the sedan in July last year compared to 196 units this year. Honda Civic was launched this year only and managed to grab 181 units.

On the other hand, Toyota Corolla lost about 64% in sales when compared to July last year. The sedan saw a total of 81 units in sales to the 223 units for the same month previous year. Hyundai Elantra was the least at 54 units due to the market slowdown and witnessed 46% of degrowth.
Not taking you through what the top-seller in this segment has to offer then Skoda Octavia comes in three engine options – two petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol engine is tuned into 1.4L and 1.8L and pumps out 146 bhp and 177 bhp respectively. Torque figures remain the same to 250 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox for the 1.4-litre and a 7-speed DSG for 1.8L engine.
Talking about the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine then it produces 141 bhp with a peak torque of 320 Nm. It is available with a choice of 6-speed MT or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

On the inside, the sedan gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features. It also gets dual-zone climate control, parking assist, ambient cabin lighting are some of the features the sedan gets.
Safety onboard includes 8 Airbags, Seat belt warning, Middle-rear three-point seatbelt, Anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Brake Assist, Hill Hold Control, Traction control and more. The price of Skoda Octavia starts at Rs 16 lakh and goes upto Rs 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
