Skoda India will launch a cosmetic uplift of Skoda Laura RS with the existing 1.8 TSI Petrol engine which comes standard in the Skoda Laura. The Laura RS will be a cosmetic as well as feature update but without any change of Engine. When displayed at the Auto Expo 2010, the Laura RS was features with a 2 Litre 200 BHP engine, but since the petrol prices in India are already hitting the ceiling, the existing 1.8 Litre TSI engine makes better sense. The existing engine is also powerful enough with a 160 BHP of power output.
The major upgrades in the Laura RS will be:
- New exteriors enhancements
- Sporty Interiors
- LED Lights
- Spoiler at rear
- 3 Spoke sporty steering wheel
- vRS Badge
The Laura RS will come on sale around the festival season to attract more sales in India as people consider it more auspicious to make purchases around Diwali festival season.
