Kushaq is the first product for Skoda under the India 2.0 strategy that changed the fortunes of the company for the better, followed by Slavia, making India the most prolific market for the Czech carmaker outside Europe.
Skoda Kushaq and Slavia is all set to get the trademark Lava Blue paint option which, traditionally, we have seen on the pricier Skoda products. This includes the likes of Kodiaq, Superb, and Octavia. Kushaq kicked off the revival of the Czech carmaker on Indian soil when the company was struggling with its last-gen products in our market. It opened the floodgates, and the following Slavia cemented Skoda’s place in India again. In fact, India became the largest market for Skoda outside Europe after its sales in Russia got hit due to the ongoing crisis. With this new paint option, Skoda aims to attract new buyers.

Skoda Kushaq and Slavia Get Lava Blue Paint
In the past, this paint option has been strictly reserved for the high-end models of the Czech carmaker. It invokes a premium appearance drawing in new customers. However, the Kushaq and Slavia were devoid of this colour. Now, with the increase in competition in the mid-size SUV and sedan segments, Skoda is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that customers remain attracted to its products. Hence, the Kushaq and Slavia will also be available with this premium paint very soon.

Kushaq and Slavia have been a crucial vehicles for the Czech carmaker in India. They have contributed immensely to the overall sales of Skoda. These are underpinned by the MQB A0 IN platform, which spawned successful products for the VW Group including Taigun and Virtus. In fact, the sales for all these vehicles have been strong in India for a long time now. With the introduction of this new paint shade, Skoda wants to ascertain its strong foothold in the market.

Skoda Kushaq and Slavia come powered by the same 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre EVO turbo petrol engine belting out a decent 115 hp / 178 Nm and 150 hp / 250 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The former is mated to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, while the latter is offered with a sole 7-speed DSG (DCT) automatic transmission. The prices for Kushaq range from Rs 11.59 lakh to Rs 19.69 lakh, while Slavia retails between Rs 11.39 lakh and Rs 18.45 lakh, ex-showroom.
