The semiconductor shortage is still affecting the car production lines. Instead of further delay, the Skoda Kushaq Ambition variant has simply dumped the climate control feature.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and semiconductor chip shortage, most car companies are running behind on their delivery schedules and suffering the shortage. Most of the popular car models currently have long waiting periods for delivery. Some of the brands have simply chosen to cut back on certain features to keep the production lines going. Skoda is the latest to take this measure. The new Skoda Kushaq Ambition variant is shipping without the automatic climate control feature.

As per recent reports, the Skoda Kushaq Ambition now comes with manual AC with three rather basic-looking rotary controls. Previously, the mid-spec variant (placed between ‘Active’ and top-spec ‘Style) had ditched omitted auto-foldable outside rearview mirrors. It now comes with manually-foldable mirrors. Interestingly, the other two variants continue to ship without any changes. Also, the price of the Skoda Kushaq Ambition has not been changed. It costs Rs 12.79 lakh for the manual version. The automatic version comes with a price tag of Rs 14.19 lakh.

The Skoda Kushaq Ambition variant is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. It is paired with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. The mid-spec model comes with a certified mileage of 17.88 kmpl. It comes with features like Multi-function Steering Wheel, Engine Start-Stop Button, Anti Lock Braking System, Alloy Wheels, Fog Lights – Front, and Power Windows. The 5-seater car comes in Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, and Honey Orange color options.
