Skoda has commenced the bookings for Karoq TSI with deliveries set to commence from 6th May. The SUV will be CBU priced around Rs 20 Lakhs.
Skoda showcased the Karoq TSI at the Auto Expo 2020, which will enter the mid-size SUV segment. The manufacturer has commenced the bookings of it now, at an amount of Rs 50,000. The deliveries are set to commence on May 6.
Skoda Karoq will enter the Indian market through the CBU route. Going by the import regulations, Skoda can only import 2,500 units for a year. Also, since, it is a fully imported SUV its prices will be higher than its actual competitors.
Karoq gets a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder turbo petrol TSI engine. The motor produces 150 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It can sprint from 0-100 km/hr in just 9 seconds and gets a top speed of 202 km/hr.

Karoq is based on the platform of Volkswagen T-Roc, which is another upcoming mid-size SUV. Both of them are just 4.3 metres long. So, their actual competitors include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks. However, they will go against the likes of Jeep Compass Petrol, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
Features onboard Karoq include Panoramic electric sunroof, the famous Virtual Cockpit, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, full LED headlamps, dual-tone diamond cut alloys and Stone Beige Leather seats.
Safety features will include nine airbags, rear parking camera, ABS with EBD, Parktronic system(Advanced Parking Aid), adaptive cruise control, iBuzz, electronic stability control (ESC) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
Just like Tiguan All Space, the Karoq will be available in a single fully-loaded variant. If Skoda sees good demand for the SUV in the near future, they could possibly think of manufacturing it in India. Once made in India, its prices will be reduced drastically.
