Regulars here would remember that we were one of the first few to tell you about the launch plans that Skoda India has for the Karoq SUV. The Karoq is basically a 5-seater model that is a spiritual successor to the globally successful Yeti. While the Indian subsidiary of the Czech car maker is yet to make an official announcement regarding the launch of its upcoming small SUV, a handful of spy images showing the SUV parked in Indian surroundings have surfaced on the web-world. Our guess is that the Skoda Karoq India launch would take place in late-2018.
Underpinning the upcoming Skoda SUV is the parent VW Group’s MQB platform. This is the same platform that also underpins the Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tiguan. In India, the Karoq will go on to rival the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. The Karoq looks a lot like a slightly smaller Kodiaq, especially when seen in the front profile. It gets a very similar radiator grille and full-LED headlamps. The upcoming premium SUV from Skoda is 4,382 mm long, 1,841 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall. It boasts a 2,638 mm long wheelbase and enjoys a ground clearance of 200 mm. The Karoq offers a boot space of 521-litres, which is further expanded to 1,810-litres

Skoda Karoq India Design
In terms of styling, the new Karoq looks like a lot shrunken Kodiaq. While we are yet to see the car in flesh, the images here show that the Karoq looks closely related to the Kodiaq. While the Yeti boasts a quirky exterior, a major reason for its success in international markets, the Karoq features a more conventional crossover design.
