Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) has reached a production milestone by manufacturing 500,000 engines at its Chakan plant in Pune. It’s noteworthy that the Chakan facility plays a crucial part in the Volkswagen Groupโs global strategy. It produces powertrains not just for domestic use but also for export markets.
The latest milestone highlights Indiaโs significance as a key production and export hub. SAVWIPL focuses on sustainability and advanced technology in its powertrain lineup. The 1.0-litre TSI engine comes with improved exhaust emission technology, while the 1.5-litre TSI engine features Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) for enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Since 2014, the company has been manufacturing engines with a strong emphasis on localization, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to strict emission norms. With continued investment in advanced manufacturing techniques, SAVWIPL remains committed to efficiency, sustainability, and expanding Indiaโs footprint in the global automotive industry.
