In this latest instance, a shirtless man is seen dancing out of the sunroof of a moving Kia Sonet. It is common for people to hang out of the sunroofs of cars while the vehicles are in motion. Let us clear the air on this – It is illegal to hang out of the sunroof of a moving car as per the Motor Vehicles Act. Nevertheless, people are either unaware of this rule or conveniently choose to ignore it. But that could cause a safety hazard for other drivers on the road. One such incident has surfaced from Himachal Pradesh recently. Here are its details.

Shirtless Man Dances Out of Kia Sonet’s Sunroof
The video has been uploaded by Pahad Prime. According to the information in the video, a car of tourists is seen on the roads of Bilaspur. They were travelling back from Kullu. However, as they reach near the Bilaspur bus stand, one of them climbs out of the sunroof of the compact SUV. What’s even worse is the fact that he has taken his shirt off. The occupants were reportedly creating a nuisance on the highway. When the Traffic Police beckoned them to stop, they hurled abuses at them and carried on.

People driving behind them made a video of them and the Police also started following them. Finally, they were stopped by the Police near Lakhanpur. They were taken into custody and interrogated by the Police. They were driving rashly and creating a ruckus on the road jeopardizing their safety and the safety of others. After they apologised to the Police, they were set free with a warning. Unfortunately, such cases of tourists creating a nuisance after coming to the mountains are rather common.

Hanging Out of Sunroof is Illegal
As per section 184 (f) of the Motor Vehicles Act, “driving in any manner that falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful driver and where it would be obvious to a competent and careful driver that driving in that manner would be dangerous.” This confirms that this practice is illegal and some cities even have fines if they see someone out of the sunroof of a moving car. It endangers the safety of the person hanging out of the sunroof in case of sudden braking as well as restricts the view of the other drivers on the road.
