Thankfully, it is not often that you see school students driving ostentatious vehicles on the roads
In a rather strange and perilous turn of events, some school students in Gujarat’s Surat were spotted taking out their luxury cars to celebrate farewell. Now, Indian roads are some of the most dangerous on the planet. The main reason for that is the fact that people don’t follow traffic regulations strictly. This latest incident is a perfect case in point. Let us delve into the specifics of this case.
School Students Drive Luxury Cars in Surat
This post stems from indiatvnews on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather shocking incident. The report mentions that on the occasion of their school farewell, these 12th-class students decided to bring their opulent automobiles to the school. Now, while their parents might send them to school with drivers in these cars daily, on this occasion, they were seen driving these themselves on the roads. Now, it is not possible for 12th-class students to have permanent driving licenses. Also, most of them will definitely not be great drivers due to their lack of experience. Additionally, some of them were hanging out of the sunroofs of moving cars.
Still, to flaunt their wealth, and create social media content, they are seen driving them on public roads in a rally-like setting. These vehicles include cars from Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Kia, BMW, etc. Clearly, these are the absolute top-class cars indicating that they belong to influential families. Thankfully, the authorities swung into action and the Surat District Education Officer Bhagirath Gadhvi issued a notice to Fountainhead School. Furthermore, the Surat Police seized 20 vehicles. In total, 28 luxury cars were present at the scene. The Police confirmed that the students gathered at Pal Crossroads after which they started driving 28 cars together, creating a ruckus on the road. Further investigation is going on.
My View
I must admit this is, unfortunately, a common practice in our country to make fun of rules and regulations. That is the reason we lose lakhs of lives on our roads each year. Let us pledge to be responsible road users and encourage everyone around us to do the same. That is the only way to safeguard our roads and prevent loss of lives. If you find anyone breaking the rules, make sure to report them to the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken against them.
