This Maruti S-Presso-inspired Fortuner has to be among the weirdest mash-ups I have come across in a long time. I keep reporting about digital illustrations of various cars on a daily basis. However, there are some instances which just don’t sit well for some reason. Unfortunately, this one qualifies as one such case. S-Presso is the entry-level micro SUV in the country. It is a great option for those who are on a strict budget but want something which loosely resembles an SUV. On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner is the most successful 7-seat off-roading SUV in India. Let us see what happens when these two ‘meet’.
S-Presso-Inspired Suzuki Fortuner
This post comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. It captures a rather bizarre contraction. Looking at this strange illustration, the first aspect you will notice is a silhouette of the Fortuner. However, some things look out of place. For instance, at the front, you will notice the grille borrowed from the S-Presso. Still, the sleek headlamp cluster comes from the regular Fortuner which makes for an interesting conjunction. The bright orange colour is another relation to the S-Presso. On the extreme edges of the bumper, there are black components which represent the absence of fog lamps. In the lower section of the bumper, the black materials elevate the sportiness and ruggedness of this concept.
On the sides, things get even weirder with steel wheels. There are chunky wheel arches with black cladding. I find the side profile quite funny with tiny window frames finished in black colour. In fact, the quarter glass behind the C-pillars looks especially tiny. Also, the fuel tank cap looks like a mistake by the artist. There are faux roof rails which are barely visible. At the rear, the silhouette is inspired by the old-generation version of the Fortuner. All in all, this has to be among the most bizarre collaborations between the S-Presso and Fortuner.
Our View
Digital iterations are getting more and more popular in this digital age. I often find some version of a mass-market car in a unique rendition by some prominent artists. I appreciate the efforts the artists put into creating something truly unique to break the monotony associated with watching a car with the same design every day. In some cases, the final outcome is closer to reality, whereas in some other instances, it is not the case. This one certainly belongs to the latter. Still, I shall keep covering unique avatars of popular cars in the virtual realm from time to time.
