The upcoming entry-level Tesla model, which will likely cost €25,000 (Rs 20 lakh+), is set to make a splash as a stylish two-door car. It’s exciting news, especially for Indian consumers, as sources suggest its launch in Germany will be followed by an introduction in the Indian market. This move aligns with Tesla’s strategy to broaden its global footprint and cater to diverse markets. While the entry-level model is yet to receive a name, it’s often been referred to as the ‘Model 2.’
According to sources, the budget-friendly Tesla Model 2 first launch in Germany and subsequently make it to India. The speculation suggests that this electric car might take the form of a two-door SUV or sedan. If these plans materialize, it will mark Tesla’s second model for India, following the Model Y, as reported exclusively by Moneycontrol.

The Rs 20 Lakh Tesla Model 2
Globally, Tesla is gearing up to unveil an entry-level model that is currently unnamed. It is designed to compete with models like the Renault 5 and VW ID.2. Elon Musk has hinted at an attractive $25,000 price point. The Model 2 aims to broaden Tesla’s market reach and enhance accessibility to electric mobility on a global scale. In the Indian context, a price tag of Rs 20 lakh positions it as a compelling option against premium EVs like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. While it may be pricier than the Tata Nexon EV, the Model 2 could serve as an enticing entry point for early adopters seeking a taste of upscale, world-class electric vehicles.
