The deliveries of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 in Chrome colour option have begun. The Chrome variant is the costliest one at Rs 2.70 Lakhs.
Last week we reported that the deliveries of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 in Baker Express colour option begun. Now, the second batch deliveries of the top-end Chrome variant has commenced.
The deliveries began on December 16 and the first one was delivered in Bengaluru. The second one was delivered in Delhi NCR. Soon, the remaining colour options will also be delivered.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is available in 6 colour options – Glitter and Dust (Chrome), Baker Express, Mark Three, Ravishing Red, Orange Crush and Silver Spectre.

The regular colour options are priced at Rs 2.50 Lakhs. The Dual-tone options go for Rs 2.57 Lakhs and the Glitter and Dust (Chrome) for Rs 2.70 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom).
Currently, the waiting period for the bike has soared up to 3 months. Our dealer sources have confirmed the delay in the waiting period. Speculations suggest that the period may further increase.
Royal Enfield has confirmed that they will soon double the production speed of the 650 Twins. Currently, 2500 units are being produced monthly, which will be increased to 4500-5000 units monthly.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 use the same 648cc air-cooled Twin-cylinder engine. The engine delivers 47 BHP and 52 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
While the Interceptor is a Classic Roadster, the GT 650 is a retro-styled cafe racer. The INT offers a relaxed cruising position, while the GT offers a bit of a dedicated riding position.
The monthly sales for December 2018 show that the 650 Twins have performed good in the market. Royal Enfield sold 629 units of the Twins for that month, which will increase as the production increases.

The 650 Twins compete with the likes of KTM Duke 390, BMW G 310 R and Honda CB300R, in terms of pricing.
