The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 teasers had been creating a buzz online for the last few days.
The much-anticipated Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has finally been launched. Note that while the launch event took place in Barcelona, Spain, the prices for the Indian market have also been revealed. RE is very active in terms of keeping its portfolio fresh. As a result, tons of new product launches and updates are planned for this year alone. The aim is to expand its footprint not just in India, but across the globe. For now, let us delve deep into the specifics of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 which has been launched in Spain for a price tag of 4,850 GBP.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Launched – Specs and Prices
Since the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is derived from the Himalayan 450, it shares tons of components including the powertrain. This is a 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC 4-valve Sherpa engine which generates a healthy 40.02 PS @8,000 RPM and 40 Nm @5,500 RPM of peak power and torque. Complimenting this engine is a 6-speed transmission with a wet multi-plate and slip-and-assist clutch. There is a ride-by-wire technology with a 42 mm throttle body. The bike comes with a steel tubular frame using the engine as a stressed member.
At the front, it gets 43 mm telescopic forks with 140 mm travel and a linkage-type mono-shock at the rear with 150 mm wheel travel. Hence, it bears a roadster stance with a 169 mm ground clearance, lower foot pegs and handlebar in comparison to the Himalayan. At the rear, it even gets a subframe which supports the pillion seat and also gives it a distinct appearance. It has a wheelbase of 1,440 mm and a length of 2,090 mm. The seat height is a decent 780 mm. For taller riders, you can get a higher seat as part of the accessories. The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 weighs 185 kg and has a fuel tank of 11 litres.
Another key distinction of the Guerrilla in comparison to the Himalayan is the large 17-inch alloy wheels with a 120-section tyre at the front and 160-section tyre at the rear. Moreover, the front wheel has a 310 mm ventilated disc with a double-piston calliper and the rear wheel gets a 270 mm ventilated disc with a single-piston calliper. The dual-channel ABS comes as standard. Even though the bike was launched in Spain, the Indian prices have been announced. There are three trims on offer – Analogue, Dash and Flash. The prices are 2.39 lakh, Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. These are quite attractive prices.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 – Design
In terms of design, even though it borrows the chassis and powertrain from the Himalayan, there are enough elements to distinguish the two. In fact, both of them have their individual characteristics. The Guerrilla comes with a round LED headlamp along with an LED taillamp and LED turn indicators. In addition to that, its muscular fuel tank with ‘Guerrilla’ graphics enhances the sporty appearance. In fact, that is one area which differentiates it from the Himalayan as the fuel tank of the latter is much larger. Apart from that, it gets a single-seat setup which is quite unique in this segment of motorcycles.
I particularly like the massive and chunky alloy wheels with black spokes. Also, the 160-section tyre is among the broadest the Indian two-wheeler giant has ever offered in any of its products. The side section is rugged with tough panels to protect the engine components. Also, the stubby exhaust tip looks rather sporty. Furthermore, the black side panels elevate the sportiness of the motorcycle. The rear section is slim with thin grab handles. All in all, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 certainly has the potential to make heads turn on the roads.
