Offered by Faridabad-based MK Design, the Royal Enfield FF650 Cafe R is a DIY bolt-on full-fairing kit for 650cc RE twins
First launched in 2018, the Interceptor as well as the Continental GT were quick to propel Royal Enfield with their punchy twin-cylinder motor and delicious retro look. The two most powerful models in the RE lineup are undoubtedly classy in their stock format but many motorcycle customizers have successfully managed to increase the overall charm of these models through carefully curated modifications. Earlier, we had told you about a bolt-on full-fairing kit from MK Designs that could convert these 650cc REs into decidedly sporty retro-racers. And today, we’ve got with us some visuals of a red-coloured Continental GT with this aftermarket bolt-on full-fairing. Below, we even have a video highlighting how neatly the fairing can be fitted to a motorcycle. Being sold by MK Designs India, this full-fairing kit has been dubbed FF650 R

This kit is a result of a collaborative project between MK Designs India and One Cars. The kit is available in all original Royal Enfield colours and offers a DIY fitment with no requirement of welding or grinding. Also, the fairing has been designed keeping in mind proper ventilation for the engine area while the motorcycles have 174mm of ground clearance with this bolt-on kit. The kit includes a 5.75″ headlamp, side panels and underbelly. The steeply raking windscreen that the kit comes with should not just allow the rider duck down and save himself from the windblast at high speed but even aid aerodynamics.
Specs
The Royal Enfield FF650 Cafe R kit surely gives a distinct visual identity to the flagship RE models but it doesn’t bring along any mechanical updates. For reference, the 650cc twins come with a 648cc parallel twin-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 47 bhp @ 7,250 RPM along with a peak torque of 52 Nm @ 5,250 RPM. In both the motorcycles, the engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with slipper clutch. As per the motorcycle manufacturer, 80% of the peak torque is on offer as low as 2,500 RPM while its output follows a flat curve till 5,250 RPM.

In the stock format, the Royal Enfield 650cc twins are capable of hitting a top speed of 160 kmph along with delivering a claimed mileage of 25.5 kmpl. There are chances that the FF650 Cafe R kit would slightly faster owing to a more aerodynamic front-end. If nothing else, we think the latest modification option for the flagship motorcycle gives it a unique look that will surely impress lovers of classic motorcycles.
