The new motorcycle was put on display at the EICMA 2017 today. It will launch first in the European market in April 2018. Subsequently, it will launch in many markets across the globe. The India launch of the 650cc Conti GT should happen by July 2018. It will have a price tag of around Rs 3 lakh. The new 2017 Royal Enfield Continental GT made its debut alongside the India-bound Interceptor 650 motorcycle. It is powered by the company’s new 650cc twin-cylinder engine.

The new 650cc RE Continental GT will make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Speaking on the occasion of unveiling of the new Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield said, “The new Continental GT 650 Twin is an evolution of the Continental GT 535, which in turn, was an evolution of the Continental GT 250 – the original Royal Enfield British café racer. Powered by the all-new 650 Twin, it looks every bit like its predecessor and performs even better.”

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Price in India

The new 650cc version of the RE’s cafe racer will launch in several countries across the globe. Of course, India will be among the first few markets to get this bike. In a highly price sensitive market like India, where the selling price plays a huge role in the buying decision, it gets really important for companies to have an ultra-competitive price. Prices are likely to be kept around the Rs 3 lakh mark.

It is said that production of the new motorcycle is about to start. The 650cc Interceptor has just made its public debut at EICMA 2017 and will first go on sale in Europe. Subsequently, the Continental GT 650 will also launch in India, where it is likely to come around by May next year. Royal Enfield has promised its fans that the new 650cc cafe racer will launch in all the markets where RE has a presence by June next year. The new motorcycle will make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018.

Talking about the performance of the new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, RE said,” It takes more than good looks to carve through a corner. The design and development team applied its many years of accumulated know-how while setting key parameters like steering rake, ground clearance, and lean angle, to create the perfect ride for this sports inspired café-racer.”

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Specifications

The new Conti GT 650 gets a new 650cc parallel-twin engine that looks a lot like another RE parallel twin of the yore. That said, the new motor is a thoroughly modern unit and offers a peak power of 47 PS at 7,000 RPM along with a max torque of 52 Nm at 4,000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and has a SOHC head. The oil-cooler for the engine features a small radiator that is mounted on the double-cradle chassis. The new motorcycle weighs 200 KGs.
