This image has been shared by 95pistons on Instagram. It captures a man riding the motorcycle in its full glory. There are no camouflaged elements at all. One would recognize the resemblance with the existing Classic 350 instantly. Essentially, the Classic 650 will be a larger version of the Classic 350. The front features round headlamps, the fuel tank is teardrop-shaped with a gloss finish, the tyres feature the spoked pattern, there are chrome plated dual exhaust pipes, split-seat setup, a compact handlebar with rearview mirrors and chunky wheels.

Specs
Since RE already offers 650-cc bikes in the form of Interceptor and Meteor, the Classic 650 will borrow the engine from them. However, it could be tuned slightly differently. The Interceptor has a 648-cc parallel twin, fuel-injected, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 47 PS and 52 Nm of peak power and torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist-and-slipper clutch with a fuel tank of 13.7 litres. This test mule also shows the usage of conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin-shock absorbers at the rear. Also, there are disc brakes on both wheels. More details will surface closer to the launch.

What We Think
After being the market leader in the 350-cc tourer bike segment for decades now, Royal Enfield wishes to expand that dominance to the larger 650-cc segment too. There also, it is already doing well with the aforementioned models. But with the tag of the Classic 650, more buyers will be attracted to it. But we shall have to wait to see how the customers react as they will also have a lot of other options when considering bikes above the 350-cc segment. Nonetheless, we are excited to see what the future of such bikes is. It will certainly make things more interesting for the buyers.
