The sales figures for March 2019 of Classic 350 have gone down sharply. Alongside, the bike no longer sits in the list of top-10 selling bikes for March.
Despite seeing a minor decrease of 3.9% in its monthly sales, Royal Enfield Classic 350 has lost its consistent position in the top-10 selling motorcycles. For the past many months, it has managed to secure between 7-10th position in the list.
The monthly sales of Classic stood at 36,428 units for March and at 37,862 units for the month of February. Last few months have not been good for the bike. It has been seeing a sharp decline in sales for some time now.
The exact reason for its decline stands unknown. However, at the same time, the sales of Royal Enfield 650 Twins is rapidly increasing. Could this be the reason?

There could be many possible reasons. Recently, Royal Enfield workers went on a strike at the factory in Tamil Nadu. As a result, the production was disturbed, leading to limited supply.
Many reports suggest that the popularity of the 650 Twins might also have a play here. The newly launched Royal Enfield bikes are a lot costlier than the Classic 350.
On the other hand, the 650 Twins have been returning positive sales since launch. For the month of March 2019, it made 1700 sales unit, rising by nearly 20% on a monthly basis.
Recently, an updated version o the Classic 350 was spotted testing on the Indian roads. It got a new seat, minor cosmetic changes and most likely a BS-6 engine onboard.
