Royal Enfield 838cc V-Twin bobber concept has been unveiled at the EICMA 2018 in Italy. It uses the newly developed twin-cylinder 838cc engine. This will be the most powerful Royal Enfield once put through production.
For the past couple of weeks, Royal Enfield was teasing its upcoming bobber concept. Finally, Royal Enfield 838cc V-Twin Bobber has been unveiled in its concept model. It is based on the 1938 Royal Enfield KX motorcycle, which came with a 1140cc V-Twin engine. Since it is a concept model, there are no possibilities of it coming into production. However, as per earlier reports that state Royal Enfield plans to enter the premium motorcycle market above 650cc to take on the likes of Harley Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles.
Although the power figures are not out yet, it would mostly produce somewhere around 90 BHP power. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine has been made in collaboration with Polaris Motors. Polaris Motors is the parent company of Indian Motorcycles, one of the most premium motorcycles maker.

What amazes is that the Royal Enfield 838cc V-Twin bobber looks very identical to the exact KX off 1938. The concept model follows a proper bobber styling with a single seat. In the front, it gets LED headlights with twin circular LED DRLs. The dual exhaust canisters are placed above each other. The tan coloured seat, handle and brakes add more to its retro charm.
For suspension, Royal Enfield 838cc V-Twin bobber uses Girder Forks in the front and a monoshock suspension at the back. The girder forks are similar to the one of the original KX. In the front, it gets dual disc brakes and in the rear a single disc brake. The dual exhaust setup will produce a more aggressive Royal Enfield note.

With this, Royal Enfield is also developing many platforms that will be used by other upcoming models. RE has plans for 4 platforms, out of which, the Royal Enfield 838cc V-Twin bobber might come under K Platform.
RE states that this is just a design study and will evaluate the feedback from people attending the EICMA event. That’s why there are no certainties about its launch. As of now, it is the third model to sport a V-Twin engine after RE Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650.
