A tragic incident unfolded on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway earlier today, as a Rolls Royce Phantom VIII worth Rs 10 crore collided with a petrol tanker. The impact led to an explosion and the luxury saloon immediately caught fire. This tragic occurrence took place in Haryana’s Nuh district. Two occupants of the ill-fated petrol tanker have lost life. Details of those travelling in the Roller aren’t available at the moment.

Rolls Royce Phantom VIII Hits Petrol Tanker
While exact details of how this mishap took place aren’t available, the Rolls Royce reportedly hit the petrol tanker at a very high speed. The impact was so strong that a fire ensued and the tanker overturned. The two occupants of the tanker are said to have burnt alive. Meanwhile, the impact damaged the entire front section of the luxury sedan, which too caught fire. The front-end is damaged beyond recognition. From the looks of it, though, the cabin stays intact with no signs of damage to the pillars.
The Rolls Royce Phantom VIII has been on sale in India since February 2018. Currently available at a base price of almost Rs 10 crore, the globally revered sedan embodies luxury and power. Powering the Roller is a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, that delivers an impressive 563hp and a massive 900Nm of torque. This luxury chariot can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in a mere 5.4 seconds.
