In 2003, BMW owned Rolls Royce launched the super luxury car Rolls Royce Phantom in India. Today the company launched the Rolls Royce Phantom Series II in the domestic market, which is the latest version of the car.
“The Indian market continues to prove its appetite for luxury products. There is sustained demand from the country’s discerning client base, who appreciate the timeless design of Phantom Series II,” Rolls-Royce Motor Cars General Manager for Emerging Markets, Asia, Herfried Hasenoehrl said.
As of today, the company has three dealerships – New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it is planning to add two more dealerships shortly, taking the total number to 5 dealerships. “All our dealer partners are in discussions to expand the network. We are ready to set up one at Chandigarh shortly and the next in line could be close to Mumbai,” Hasenoehrl said.
In 2011, the company sold 3,538 cars worldwide which is its best sales ever. As far as the Indian market is concerned, Hasenoehrl says it sold more than 100 cars last year and he believes it has the potential to sell even more cars this year.
