The trend of buying luxury electric cars among Indian celebrities is growing slowly but surely and this video highlights that.
Riteish Deshmukh was spotted in his BMW iX electric SUV along with Genelia and their kids. Buying luxury electric cars is a trend that is just picking up in the celebrity circles. The iX is BMW’s first all-electric SUV in our country. While our market has limited options in the affordable EV segment, the luxury electric car market is being captured by almost all the luxury carmakers with their electrified products. With a starting price of Rs 1.16 Crore, the iX certainly belongs to the higher end of the spectrum.

Riteish Deshmukh Spotted in his new BMW iX Electric SUV
According to the title of the YouTube video, the family was clicked at Shilpa Shetty’s house. Riteish is seen getting out from the driver’s seat helping the kids get out from the rear seat. Genelia comes out of the passenger side as the family poses together for the paparazzis. The striking red/maroon-coloured BMW iX bears the green numberplate suggesting its clean energy credentials. The front fascia of the EV wears the vertically-oriented trademark kidney grille garnished in chrome, the LED headlamps are sleek, the bonnet is sculpted, while the taillights are slim LED units that are almost inscribed into the metal giving it a sophisticated appearance.

Being a BMW means that there won’t be any shortage on the performance front. The iX comes with a 77 kWh battery pack that powers the 2 electric motors for an all-wheel-drive configuration. The total system output is 326 hp and 630 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The claimed WLTP range is a decent 425 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time is a respectable 6.1 secs despite it being a bulky SUV. This is aided by an incredible drag coefficient of 0.25. Using the 150 kW DC fast charger, the 95 km range could be achieved within 10 mins.

In terms of features, the Bimmer is packed to the gills.
