India’s first electric motorcycle, Revolt RV 400 has been unveiled in India. The bookings for the bike will commence from 25th June for Rs 1,000.
Revolt Motors, a Gurugram based electric two-wheeler startup has unveiled its first model, RV 400. It is a fully electric motorcycle, the first in India. The bookings will commence on their official website and Amazon by next week.
As of now, the RV 400 will only be available in Delhi. Later, it will be available in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. The deliveries are scheduled to commence by July 2019, for Delhi.
Revolt RV 400 offers a riding range of 156 kms, which should come down to 120-130 kms in real world conditions. The top speed is limited to 85 km/hr, basically equivalent to a 110cc motorcycle.

For charging, it will be available with a 15A plug with the cable. You can connect it to the lithium-ion battery as well as to the motorcycle directly. The battery is removable so you can take it home for charging as well. The battery will be fully charged under four hours.
You can also swap your batteries at mobile stations, or get it charged there. To get a new battery, you can also place your order on the official website. The charging stations can be seen on the app and console as well.
Importantly, Revolt RV 400 is India’s first AI-enabled motorcycle. It comes with an inbuilt 4G sim card, which will enable motorcycle’s own internet and allow OTA upgrades as well. The digital instrument console can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

The mobile app shows features such as nearest Revolt Motor Swap station, Bike Location with map guide, Real-Time information, Swap order history, Bike Start/Stop through Bluetooth, User Trips, Sound Preview, Change Motorcycle Sound and Volume and other diagnostics.
You can also choose the desired exhaust sound of the motorcycle on the app. The app also enables to upload and store important bike and user documents on the bike’s system as well.
For suspension, it uses USD Forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. The bike is mounted on a bolt-on subframe and has its battery in the place of where conventional motorcycles have their engine.

Disc brakes are available at both the ends. Lastly, it gets a hand brake placed at the position of clutch and a single comfortable seat. It gets a commuter-styled single piece raised handlebar for riding comfort.
