From there, around 900 Indians have been rescued and brought back home. The process is going on incessantly.
Costs of Rescue Flight from Ukraine
According to a report by Economic Times on February 27, 2022, the costs involved for one trip could be as high as Rs 1.1 Crore, if not more. Having talked to some internal personnel, the chartered flights to Romania and Hungary cost around Rs 7-8 lakh per hour. The duration of a flight from any of these countries is around 5-7 hours. The two-way journey lasts around 14 hours but that depends on a lot of factors. Since the path of these trips is not determined there are various charges involved that might affect the duration of the travel. Also, in wartime situations, the airspace of countries could be closed and the rescue flights might have to take different routes adding to the duration.

That is the reason why there are no certainties with regards to the flight duration and the final cost could even be higher than Rs 1.1 Crore. However, during such difficult times, all we pray and hope for is the safety of our citizens stranded abroad. No amount of money could be compared to the well-being of a human being. This goes for the native people stuck in Ukraine too. We hope that this crisis will end soon and the world would go back to normal once again.
