Renault Triber vs Datsun GO Plus – Spec Comparison

We pit the two of the most budget 7-seat option cars against each other, Renault Triber vs Datsun GO Plus. Both the cars come with features up to the brim.

Renault Triber has been finally launched at an attractive price of Rs 4.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the boy, it offers space, practicality and flexibility, all in one. With this price range is sure competes with the Maruti Suzuki WagonR and the recently launched Hyundai Grand i10 Nios but does it really sit on that segment? We pit Renault Triber vs Datsun GO Plus as both the cars offer a 7-seat option on a budget.

Talking about the Renault Triber first then it packs a handsome looking design with projector headlamps and LED taillights at the rear while the Datsun GO+ gets follow me home headlamps.

Renault Triber looks like a scaled down version of Lodgy and the body cladding continues at the sides and over wheel arches and sits on 15-inch alloy wheels. Datsun GO+ sits on 14-inch alloy wheels. It sits on an extended platform of Kwid and offers both space and practicality than its younger sibling.

Engine Comparison

Renault Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor which churns out 72 bhp with a peak torque of 96 Nm. Considering the bigger 1.2-litre petrol motor in Datsun GO +, it only churns out 63 bhp and 104 Nm of torque on tap. Both the cars are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, however, the Triber will get a 5-speed automatic trim to its portfolio soon.

There is not much any difference in terms of length but the Renault Triber does look bigger in width and the wheelbase is large by a whopping 186 mm. Similarly, the height of the Triber is 146 mm more than that of Datsun GO+.

Triber 1

Features

Renault Triber is equipped with loads of features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features. Also, it gets navigation, start-stop button, AC vents for all the three-rows, keyless entry, power windows, LED instrument console with an 8.9 cm LCD screen.

Datsun GO+, on the other hand, features a mere 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and it also comes with a voice command. It also gets lockable glove box, USB charging ports and LED DRLs.

Safety Features

The safety features on the Renault Triber gets four airbags -driver, passenger and front sides, a segment first feature, three-pin point seatbelts for all three rows, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and also comes with a reverse camera.

Datsun GO+ comes with a vehicle dynamic control (VDC) which prevents the under and oversteer by reducing engine speed and applying brakes on specific wheels. Rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, seat belt reminders are some of the standard safety measures the car receives on every trim.

The prices for the Renault Triber starts at Rs 4.95 lakh for the base model and the top model sits at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Datsun GO+ is comparatively priced lower at Rs 3.84 lakh for the base trim and the top model sits at Rs 5.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
