The Renault Triber MPV is based on an all-new platform. It is confirmed to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2019.
Renault India has today officially revealed the name of its upcoming MPV for the Indian market. This new offering, which is going to compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, will be called as the Triber.
Renault says that the Triber has been developed on an all-new platform. And that it is going to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2019. Not only this, but this all-new product from the French automaker is going to launch in India first.
Renault says that the Triber will offer a generous amount of space on the inside. Not only this but is if also going to be modern and contemporary. So far there have been quite a few sightings of this vehicle’s test mules in India. Though under heavy camouflage, you can still see that they adorn Renault’s latest design philosophy.

The new platform on which this Maruti Ertiga rivalling MPV is going to be based upon is most likely the modified version of the one which the Kwid hatchback uses. Going by the spy shots, the Triber seems to be over four-meters in
In order to compete well against the segment benchmark, the Maruti Ertiga, the Triber is likely to offer a decent amount of creature comforts onboard. These will include projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, automatic climate control, steering mounted audio control to name a few.

In terms of safety, this all-new MPV will get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver and passenger seat belt warnings along with high-speed alert system as standard. Higher variants can offer the option of multiple airbags.
The Renault Triber will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine borrowed from the Kwid. However. for use in this MPV, it will be slightly re-tuned to produce higher power outputs. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, there will be a 5-speed AMT unit on offer as well. Prices are likely to fall in-between the range of INR 6 lakh to 9 lakh.
