The Renault Triber is going to launch in India sometime during the festive season this year. It will sit below the Duster in the carmaker’s line-up.
Renault is soon going to launch an all-new compact utility vehicle in India. It will be called the Triber. Based on the Kwid’s modified platform, it will sit below the Duster in the carmaker’s portfolio.
In terms of prices, it is likely to fall in-between the range of INR 5 lakh to INR 8 lakh. Its primary competition will be with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. However, the Triber will have an ace up its sleeve. This will be an extra row of seats.
Yes, despite its compact dimensions, the Renault Triber will pack in a third row of seats. The interesting thing to note here is that this third row of seats will be removable. Considering this, it seems Renault is trying to kill two birds with one arrow.
Essentially, this vehicle will be a sub4-meter compact SUV. However, it will also have the convenience of a 7-seater when needed.
The Renault Triber will get all the required features and creature comforts. It is going to get LED daytime running lights, a touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control to name a few.
Safety feature list will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver and passenger seat belt warning system along with high-speed alert system.
It is to be believed that the Renault Triber is going to come with the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Kwid. Changes will be made considering the extra weight. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 5-speed AMT.
