New reports coming in have confirmed that Renault will be launching the Triber AMT this month itself with a considerable price hike.
Renault Triber made its debut last year itself as the most affordable MPV in India. In the time where automatic cars are preferred by an increasing number of people, Renault only launched it with a manual gearbox. At the Auto Expo 2020, we finally got a closure when the manufacturer actually displayed the Triber AMT on showcase.
A new report suggests that Renault is going to launch the Triber by 18th May. The official bookings notification will soon come as the manufacturer will first commence online bookings. Further, Triber AMT is expected to cost nearly Rs 50,000 more than its manual variants. Here is the current detailed price list:
Variant | New Price |
RXE | 4.99 Lakhs |
RXL | 5.78 Lakhs |
RXT | 6.28 Lakhs |
RXZ | 6.82 Lakhs |

The AMT gearbox will come on RXL, RXT and RXZ variants and not the base variant. A hike of Rs 50,000 is somewhat higher and will take the prices of Triber’s top-end variant to Rs 7.3 Lakhs. However, it is still cheaper than the bigger Maruti Ertiga, which starts off at Rs 7.59 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Renault Triber will get a 5-speed AMT gearbox to go with its existing 1.0 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The unit is capable of producing 72 BHP and 96 Nm of peak torque. The same engine comes on the Kwid but on Triber, the engine produces more power. Soon, there is a more powerful engine on the way.
After the AMT, Renault Triber will next get a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. That’s because to increase the pulling power of the Triber as it is a 7-seater. Not that many people have complained about the current engine, on papers, the turbo engine will sound good. It is said to produce around 95 BHP and will come with a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.
