At the launch of Triber, Renault India has confirmed that it will launch a new car every year, and as of now, a sedan and a sub-compact SUV have been confirmed.
Renault has launched its new 7-seater car, the Triber at a price of Rs 4.95 Lakhs up to Rs 6.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom). After a considerable time, we have seen a new car from this manufacturer launched in India.
With the new launch, Renault now has a presence in the SUV segment, MPV segment and the hatchback segment. For SUV segment, it has Duster and Captur. It even has two MPVs now, the Triber and Lodgy. Their hatchback is one of the most popular ones, the Kwid.
Now, latest reports confirm that Renault is planning to introduce a new car every year, starting from the launch of Triber. The officials have also confirmed a new Renault sedan to be coming soon and might be the first one.

Another car confirmed from the manufacturer is a sub-compact SUV which will be based on the platform of Triber, which is just about 3995mm long. Interestingly, Triber uses an extended version of Kwid’s CMF-A platform.
What remains unknown is whether the new Renault sedan will enter the sub-4 metre sedan class or the C-segment sedan class. The former segment has Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo and Honda Amaze. The latter has Ciaz, Vento, Verna, Rapid and Yaris. Earlier, Renault had the Scala for this segment.
In the growing popularity of SUVs, Renault is planning for a sedan. Well, the sub-4 metre sedan segment is also very popular in India, given that you get a compact car with a sedan-styled body, well under the budget of Rs 10 Lakhs.

The sub-compact SUV from Renault will take on the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. This segment is also very competitive and Renault needs to either give some segment-first features or undercut the prices of most of the SUVs.
