Renault has hinted towards the planning of a sub-4 metre sedan for India. It will go against Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
Renault plans to enter one of the most popular segments in India. It is considering a sub-4 metre sedan, which includes Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and Tata Tigor.
Earlier, the manufacturer had planned to enter this segment, but was soon chucked off. It plans to build the sedan on the extended CMF-A platform. The codename for the upcoming sedan is LBA.
This platform comes underneath the Kwid. So, the upcoming sedan has got to look somewhat similar to the hatchback.

The same platform is being used for the development of another sub-compact SUV from Renault, scheduled to be launched by 2020. The upcoming sedan will use the same engine that comes on this SUV.
We expect a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine onboard. The power figures could be around 90 BHP and 110 Nm of peak torque. Reportedly, no diesel engine will be offered onboard.
However, the report suggests that currently, Renault will focus only on launching Triber MUV and the HBC-codenamed sub-compact SUV.
Renault Triber is set to be launched in June 2019. It has been spotted testing many times, but under heavy camouflage. It will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is the most affordable one right now.

On the Triber too, speculations suggest that the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine might be equipped. It might be offered with a 5-speed MT along with the option of a AMT gearbox.
Reportedly, its third row of seat will be removable, making it as a compact-SUV too. Looking at its dimensions, it might be the most-affordable MUV, undercutting the price of Ertiga.
