The Pulse will be officially launched in January 2012 during the Indian Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. The Pulse will be a more premium offering than the Nissan Micra and will be launched with the 1.5 Litre dCi CRDI Diesel enginewhich powers the Nissan Micra. The elements which distinguish the Pulse from Micra include the front fascia, bumper, headlamps, grille, badging etc., however the contours of the bonnet and side profile are extremely similar to Micra.
The Pulse will also offer more premium interiors and features and will be priced slightly above Micra so that its placed in slightly higher price segment. The Pulse is expected to compete with the premium hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Skoda Fabia etc. However the more crucial part, pricing, will be revealed only at the official launch which is about 2 months away from now. Lets wait and watch how the Pulse is priced and how it turns the sales chart for Renault in India as small car segment is a hot segment in India. We expect a pricing of Rs. 5.5 Lakhs onward ex-showroom.
