2. Renault Kwid Waiting Period in India
It has emerged that the waiting period for the Kwid will soon reduce to just 1 month. The reduction in waiting period will be courtesy of increased production. Renault India will also soon start exporting the Kwid to Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and South Africa. The Kwid has been the most successful model from Renault India. It has enabled Renault India to overtake Honda Cars India and become the fourth largest car maker in India. Also, the Kwid has left quite a dent on the sale of Marutl Alto.

With a weight of merely 660 kgs, the Kwid 0.8 is the lightest car in the country. Even the 1.0 model is just 40 kgs heavier. The Kwid is 3,679 mm long, 1,579 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,423 mm. It enjoys a great ground clearance of 180 mm and has a bootspace of 300-litres. Powering the Kwid 0.8 is a 799 cc three-cylinder petrol motor that has a max. power of 54 PS and a peak torque of 72 Nm. The 1.0 litre model has a maximum power of 67 BHP and a peak Torque of 91 Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. 1.0 L variants of the Kwid also get an AMT.
5. Features
The top-end trim of the Kwid boasts of fog lamps and wheel covers among other features. The interior gets front power windows and an optional touchscreen MediaNAV system with Bluetooth connectivity. There’s no ABS on offer and even driver-side airbag are optional for the top-end variant.

6. Dimensions
At a length of 3.68 meters and a width of 1.58 meters the Kwid is larger than the Alto 800 and also boasts of a high ground clearance of 180mm. Boot space is generous and Renault claims that the Kwid will offer best in class loading capacity.
