The facelifted Kwid still comes with the same BS4 compliant engines. The BS6 version will come before the new emission norms kick in.
The much awaited facelift of the Renault Kwid has been launched in the Indian market at a price of ₹2.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The entry level hatchback will replace the old model and will compete with recently launched Maruti Suzuki S Presso.
Renault Kwid facelift is launched a day after the country witnessed the launch of Maruti S Presso. Both the cars sit in the micro SUV segment and provide similar features and the pricing is competitive.
The facelifted version constitute five trims – Std, RxE, RxL, RxT, RxT (O) and Climber. The bookings for the same has started at Rs 5,000 and can be done online. It is available in five different colours – Zanskar Blue, Cool White, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver and Outback Bronze.

Talking about the facelift then the newcomer gets split headlight design cluster with LED Daytime Running Lights on the top and halogen bulbs at the bottom of the front bumper. The rear profile is not much changed and only sees the addition of vertical reflectors at the bumper and gets LED treatment.
The cabin of the car is updated with new dashboard design and a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which is borrowed from the Renault Triber. The AMT version of the Kwid also sees round gear shifter positioned at the centre console. Earlier, the same was seen at the dashboard. The ground clearance of the car now stands at 184 mm.
The top spec variant of the facelifted Kwid sees Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear centre armrest, LED Daytime Running Lights, Manual AC and among others. It also gets new seat favbrics and tweaked door pad trim. Safety features include driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, speed alert system and seat belt reminders.

Under the hood, the Renault Kwid comes in two engine options – an 800cc and a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The smaller 0.8L unit makes a total power of 54 bhp and 72 Nm of peak torque. The ARAI certified mileage sticks to 25 kmpl.
Talking about the bigger engine with 1.0L capacity then it produces 63 bhp and 91 Nm of torque and fuel efficiency sticks to 23 kmpl. Transmission is handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox for both the engines. The engines are BS4 complaint now but will be updated with new emission norms before April 2020.
