Renault Kwid EV concept was unveiled at the Paris Motorshow in October. Now, here are the first spy shots of the EV testing on the roads of China.
At the Paris Motorshow this year, Renault presented an all-electric version of its popular hatchback, Kwid. Codenamed as K-ZE, it was showcased as a concept, which is primarily meant for the Chinese markets.
In China, the demand for EVs has suddenly increased. Renault also thinks that the Chinese market is currently the most promising market for EVs. Later, it will debut in other markets as well.

Renault Kwid EV looks similar to the conventionally powered Kwid. However, there are some distinctive elements that will differentiate it from the regular outoing model.
For starters, the Renault Kwid EV will get an aggresive style with sleeker and sharper headlamps. Also, it will get a closed front grille and there would be no exhaust note either.
The specifications of the electric motor are not out yet. However, Renault has revealed the driving range. Renault Kwid EV will offer a driving range of 250 kms on full charge.
Also, it will come with a double charging system. This system allows the EV to be compatible with domestic as well as public chargers. Thus you can charge Renault Kwid EV at home as well as at public charging stations.

The instrument cluster will be able to display information such as driving range, remaining battery and other advanced telematics.
Talking about the India launch, Renault Kwid EV might make it here much later. At the unveiling, Renault stated that it is considering for India launch but not now. The launch in India stands delayed because of the low response for Electric vehicles.

As per reports, the India launch might happen by 2021. In the Indian market, Kwid EV might be one of the cheapest options available.
