Today Renault has announced a price hike for the very popular and very new Renault Duster. The SUV was launched a couple of months back at an introductory price of Rs.7.19 lakhs for its petrol variant. Since its launch, the car has clocked an impressive 20,000 bookings and the number is still increasing.
The price hike on Renault Duster will be effective from October 1st, 2012, while all the valued customers who have already booked or will book the Duster by the end of August will not have to pay the hiked amount.
Referring to this hike, Marc Nassif, MD Renault India Pvt Ltd, said “We had launched the Duster with a very attractive introductory price and the response from the customers has been tremendous. We are very thankful to our early adopters who deposited trust in the Renault brand. The Duster is well on its way to become a benchmark product in its segment. To meet the demand for the Duster we have increased our production to 3 shifts in our Chennai factory as well as the outputs of our vendors,”
“Facing an increase in raw material prices and instability in foreign exchange, factors which are beyond our control, we had to increase the retail price of Renault Duster. We have tried to keep the increase to a minimal level to ensure that our customers get the best value for money. With the new price the Duster remains one of its kind and a unique value proposition in the Indian market with its unmatched comfort, ride and handling, roominess, premium features and fuel efficiency.” he added.
As you can see in the image above the price of the diesel variants and the petrol variants have been increased by Rs.40,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively. All the diesel variants including the 85 PS and 110 PS ones, are now 40k pricier. Similar the RxE and ExL petrol variants will incur an extra premium of Rs.30k.
So if you are interested in buying the Duster or were considering it, this is the best time to make your move or else you will end up paying an undesirable extra amount.
