Renault Indian has revealed that its newly launched compact SUV Renault Duster has received over 6000 bookings in just 5 days of the launch. It is not clear whether this number includes the pre-launch booking which were close to 3,500 or not, as per our estimates, this 6000 booking number includes the pre-launch and post launch booking till after 5 days of launch which is itself a sufficient indication that Indian car buyers are excited about the Duster. With its attractive introductory price starting at just Rs. 7.19 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi, the Duster was expected to attract high demand because of its smart look, good feature list and impressive performance.
In past few months, we have seen some very interesting launches including the Duster, Ertiga, New Dzire and XUV500 which have been able to generate a lot of excitement and demand in the Indian market. All these products have something in common, which is their high value for money quotient which is something Indian buyers seek in their car purchase. The Duster petrol is priced between Rs. 7.19 Lakhs to Rs. 8.19 Lakhs while the Duster Diesel is priced between Rs. 7.99 Lakhs to Rs. 11.29 Lakhs. With a choice of one petrol and two diesel engines and a total of 8 combinations to choose from, Duster seems like a recipe made for Indian markets with wide choices.
With its pricing, size and usability segment, the Duster proves to be a good alternative to an entry level sedan in India. Also people considering MPVs for larger space and SUVs for their sportiness now have Duster as an able alternative.
