A lot of times has been utilized in watching the Indian market and after months of analysis Renault finally has confirmed the launch dates of Renault Koleos and Renault Dacia Duster SUVs. The first one i.e. the Koleos is scheduled for its launch in October 2011 while the Duster is to jump into the market in July 2012.
The official website has a couple of images which completely resemble that of the current Koleos and Duster existing in other global markets. Besides these two massive cars, the brand has also planned to launch Renault Fluence which is a sedan and will be launched along with Koleos crossover.
The Duster SUV in the image above is based on the platform of Mahindra Logan or Mahindra Verito and is one of the most affordable SUVs existing globally.The car is expected to be competitively priced and will fall close to Tata Safari. It will sport a 1.5 Liter CRDI diesel engine which can churn out 85bhp of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque.
Coming to Koleos, it would be another crossover with a costly price tag and is based on the platform of Nissan X-trail. This car is supposed to come with two engine options – a 2.5 Liter MPFI petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 169 BHP and a 2.0 Liter CRDI diesel engine which can deliver a peak power of 148 BHP.
Now that the brand has made its mind, we do hope the Indian market also gets ready to see a bit more competition.
