It’s been two years since the highly successful Renault Duster set foot in India and the ever escalating sales number has now given the brand an occasion to celebrate it with the ‘2nd Anniversary Edition’ of the compact crossover. The Renault Duster 2nd Anniversary Edition comes with an introductory price of Rs. 8.88 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is available only with the 83.3 BHP diesel engine, based on the entry level RxE Adventure variant. In its two year stint in India, the Duster started off strongly and has managed to surpass the 1 lakh unit mark in June. In the first 5 months of 2014, the compact crossover SUV clocked 17,312 units at a monthly average of 3,463 units.
The Duster second anniversary edition comes with an Amazon Green paint job which is aimed at making the vehicle look more rugged. The interiors also come in a matching neon shade which should be a pleasant change from the regular variants’ beige interiors. The front bumper comes with a small bullbar which Renaults calls an Armour and this bar is fitted with two lights. The headlights have been smoked out and they look really good. The Duster anniversary edition comes with the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine (developing 83.3 BHP and 200 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission) and fuel efficiency is claimed at 20.45 km/l. The tyre size on the SUV is 215/65 R16 and ground clearance is 205 mm. Other benefits of the 2nd Anniversary Edition are additional two-year warranty (2+2 year warranty / 80,000 km), free ‘Gang of Dusters’ membership and free 4-year roadside assistance.
The Renault Duster facelift was unveiled for the international markets in November last year. The updated version is expected to be launched in India at some point in the future and we will keep you updated on that, until then do let us know what you think of the Renault Duster 2nd Anniversary Edition.
