After several delays, Renault India today launched the Captur SUV (aka Kaptur) in this country’s ever-growing car market. Prices of the new Renault Captur start at Rs 9.99 lakh and go all the way to Rs 13.88 lakh. The new model has gone on sale in both petrol and Diesel variants. The India-spec Captur shares its engines and the B0 platform with the Duster. In India, the new model will mainly target the Hyundai Creta. The latest launch from Renault India offers a good mix of performance, features, and looks.

The Captur costs more than the Duster. With a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh for the base Petrol, and Rs 11.39 lakh for the base Diesel, the Captur goes on to rival the Hyundai Creta. The Petrol model is available in three trims, while the Diesel gets four trims. It’s the first time that Renault has launched its flagship Platine trim in India.

The new Renault Captur offers two engines – a petrol and a Diesel. Both these engines come from the Duster, which means the latest SUV from the French carmaker goes on to offer a 1.5-litre H4K petrol and a 1.5-litre K9K Diesel. The engines offer 105 BHP and 108 BHP respectively. Peak torque is rated at 142 Nm for the Petrol and 245 Nm for the Diesel. Transmission options include a 5-speed Manual for the Petrol variant and a 6-speed Manual for the Diesel.
