Skoda has brought the fully-imported Superb to our shores with a total of 100 units.
The new Skoda Superb has been relaunched in India. This is quite interesting because this is not the latest-generation model, but the second-generation trim. The only distinction it has over the outgoing model is that this is a CBU model. The single fully-loaded L&K version has a retail sticker of a jaw-dropping Rs 54 lakh, ex-showroom. This takes the on-road prices to well over Rs 62 lakh in many cities across the country. Let us take a look at the details of this luxury sedan in the real world.

Relaunched Skoda Superb Detailed on Tape
This video comes from SalahCar on YouTube. The vlogger has the new Superb with him in the flesh. He gives the viewers a tour of the Czech sedan. At the front, it gets a broad grille finished in chrome with vertical slats, sleek LED headlamps, a sporty bumper with a silver metallic strip running its width, and a long bonnet with distinct creases and a huge Skoda logo. On the sides, there are 18-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design, L&K badging on the fender, silver frame around the windows and enticing side pillars. At the rear, there is a Skoda lettering, LED taillamps with a slim silver strip connecting them and a sporty bumper with a silver finish. From the outside, the sedan certainly looks premium.
Interior and Features
On the inside, the cabin feel is opulent with a generous use of high-quality materials. The top highlights include things like a 12-speaker premium audio system, sun-blinds, plush upholstery, powered front seats with lumbar support, ventilated seats with massage function, two-spoke steering wheel with leather wrapping, steering control with chrome inserts, fully digital instrument cluster, paddle shifters, soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, physical knobs for HVAC, wireless charger, park assist, drive modes with customizable options, electronic parking brakes, large armrest with tons of storage spaces, auto-dimming IRVM, 9 airbags and more.

Specs
Just like tons of VW and Skoda products, the Superb comes with a potent 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which generates a decent 190 hp and 320 Nm of peak power and torque. The sole transmission option is a 7-speed DSG (DCT) which powers the front wheels. It offers a remarkable performance. I am aware of the fact that people would want this vehicle for its unmatched luxury, as well as exhilarating performance.
Author’s Note
I find it intriguing that Skoda decided to replace the previous Superb with this imported unit and not the latest third-gen model. But it is possible that the Czech carmaker might want to create a space for a new product. That could be the reason that the Superb has a price tag of Rs 54 lakh, while the Octavia, which is no longer on sale, retailed for between Rs 27 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, we might see a new Octavia or the Octavia RS trim to fill in the gap. In any case, we shall keep an eye out for more details in this space.
