Our dealership insiders say people can start unofficially reserving it soon. The new Swift has been seen at dealerships in Japan. Red-Coloured New Maruti Swift
This post emerges from swiftreel on Instagram. It captures the red hatchback in the flesh. The new Swift keeps a similar shape to the old one at the front, but with slight changes to the headlight design. It also has LED daytime running lights built into the headlights. The front grille is wider, and the bumper is redesigned. It looks sportier with a hint of a skid plate, although the fog lights are not included. On the sides, it features attractive new alloy wheels, black pillars with a chrome strip, and a profile similar to the current model. At the back, the LED taillights have a new look, but the trunk and bumper stay mostly the same. Overall, the upcoming Swift won’t have too many drastic changes in its design.

Interior and Features
This video clip also offers a glimpse of the inside. However, this looks like the left-hand-drive version which explains why the steering wheel is on the left side. Still, we can witness the cabin layout and features on offer. We anticipate that the version of the Swift made for India will take some features from the premium Baleno hatchback. It’s expected to have a semi-digital instrument panel, a touchscreen display for infotainment, a textured dashboard, a modern center console with automatic climate controls, lots of storage, a D-cut steering wheel with multimedia buttons, and advanced connected car technology. These additions will bring the latest tech and convenience to make passengers comfortable. The video even showcases a storage space under the boot floor.

Specs
Big changes are on their way with a new engine coming to the Swift, breaking away from the usual K Series engine seen in Swift and other Maruti cars. The upcoming Z Series engine comes in different versions. The one revealed at the Japan Mobility Show is a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder hybrid engine, promising an impressive mileage of around 30-35 km/l. Although the power stays similar to the current model, there’s a noticeable boost in torque, making for a more exciting performance at lower speeds. However, due to cost concerns, we don’t expect this engine to be in the Indian version. Instead, we might see the new Z-Series engine with mild hybrid technology.
