The soon-to-be-launched RE Guerrilla 450 has been fully leaked ahead of the official launch. The planned launch will occur on July 17. However, the internet is flooded with the two variants on offer – single tone and dual tone. In the last few days, I have been reporting spy media photos and videos from Barcelona, Spain. The motorcycle was being tested by some prominent riders. Finally, this latest video showcases the bike in all its glory without any camouflage. Let us take a look at the details here.
RE Guerrilla 450 Leaks Prematurely
This video comes from TrippleLines on YouTube. The visuals capture the two bikes parked in an open location. However, what is interesting is the fact that there is no camouflage or covering to conceal the identity of these bikes. They are seen in single-tone and dual-tone paint schemes. Also, going by what has already been leaked online, these would be the lower and higher variants on offer once the bike goes on sale. Apart from the colour changes, there are some other differences to set the two apart as well.
The RE Guerrilla 450 will get round headlamps with a bulky appearance. The fuel tank looks rugged and so does the sleek tail profile. It gets a massive rear tyre and a chunky front tyre as well. What I particularly like is the stubby exhaust pipe and sturdy side body panels. In fact, it even gets a single-seat configuration which is not all that common in a bike of this category. I am also able to witness the round instrument cluster with a TFT screen like the one on the Himalayan 450. Other bits include switches and turn-by-turn navigation borrowed from the same bike.
Specs and Price
While there are no official confirmations regarding the powertrain options on sale, I expect it to get the same engine as the Himalayan 450. This means a 452-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC 4V engine which produces a decent 40.02 PS of power @ 8,000 RPM and 40 Nm of torque @ 5,500 RPM. Performing the transmission duties will be a 6-speed slip & assist gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The Himalayan is a twin-spar tubular steel frame with a 43 mm USD front fork with 200 mm of travel and a linkage-type mono-shock at the rear with 200 mm of travel. I expect these aspects to carry onto the Guerrilla too. The expected prices range from Rs 2.40 lakh to Rs 2.60 lakh, ex-showroom.
