A recent case emerged online where an RE Bullet catches fire in the middle of the road. Vehicles getting engulfed in flames is, unfortunately, a rather common occurrence during peak summer months in our country. India is primarily a hot country with temperatures even reaching around 50 degrees Celsius. A huge issue is that there is a dire want of covered parking places for cars in huge cities. Hence, people have to park their cars and two-wheelers in direct sunlight sometimes. That could be an issue in some scenarios. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
RE Bullet Catches Fire on Road
This video comes from royalenfieldadda and royalenfielddrc on Instagram. The visuals showcase a very interesting picture. A Bullet is parked in the middle of the road in Kesav Nagar, Pune. The owner and another person are seen pouring water on it. Look closely and you will see flames emerging from the engine. The iconic retro motorcycle caught fire in the middle of the road. Thankfully, a water tank was passing through which decided to stop and help the bike owner douse the fire.
This is certainly not the first time a Royal Enfield Bullet was seen ablaze. Unfortunately, there have been a few instances of these bikes suffering from fires. Mostly, people often visit aftermarket modification shops where they tweak the original wiring and electronics of the motorcycles. As a result, these can sometimes short-circuit leading to spontaneous fires. Apart from that, there is always a possibility of manufacturing defects, accidents or poor maintenance practices which would be a reason for causing a fire.
Our View
I would like to advise our readers to be cognizant of this issue and ensure that you follow healthy standard practices during the peak summer season to prevent such incidents. These include things like parking under the shade, refusing to go to unauthorized shops to get modifications and customizations, as well as maintaining a regular service record to keep your automobile in top shape. That is the only way to keep your side of things clear. Still, if fires occur due to other reasons, you can’t do anything about that.
