The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is India’s first convertible luxury SUV. Not only this, but this is also the first convertible by Range Rover in India.
On the 27th of March, Range Rover will launch India’s first luxury SUV convertible. Yes, you heard it right. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is all set to make its official debut in India this year. We first saw the glimpse of this SUV during late 2016 when it was unveiled internationally. The Evoque Convertible will only come in a single variant in our country. This is the top of the line HSE Dynamic trim. Not only this, but only the petrol derivative will be on sale.
The Range Rover Evoque Convertible will get the same petrol engine which comes in the Velar. This is the brand new 2,0-litre Ingenium petrol motor. This is a 4-cylinder unit and produces 240 BHP along with 340 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, in the Velar, this engine belts out 250 BHP of power. The power is transmitted to all the four wheels with the help of a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Evoque Convertible is capable of achieving a top speed at 217 Km/h. While o to 100 km/h comes in just 8.1 seconds.

The convertible Evoque is based on the same platform which the standard Evoque uses. That said, this drop-top SUV will have a considerably smaller boot space. The coupe variant of the Evoque offers a luggage capacity of 550-litres. While the 5-door variant offers 575-litres of space. The convertible Evoque will offer 251-litres of boot space.
That said, the drop-top Evoque will offer the same feature as its hard-top sibling. The SUV will come with adaptive Xenon headlights, LED signature lighting, 12-way adjustable front seats, leather upholstery among the others. The feature list also includes Meridian Surround sound system with 12, 660-watt speakers. There is a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with configurable ambient lighting.

In order to make the chassis rigid, the convertible Evoque comes with reinforced chassis and door panels. The roof is fabric. It operates within 20 seconds even if the vehicle is moving at speed up to 40 km/h.
So far no concrete details are out on the pricing of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. However, it is likely to cost around the mark of INR 80 to 85 Lakh.
