This quad-bike based on a KTM 1290 Super Duke has been built by E-ATV and despite the modifications, its still weighs only 238kg. The 177PS of power is still intact in between those wheels. You can imagine the performance for yourself.
The KTM Duke 790 is already a manic machine and enough to scare off most people. Although we do not get the KTM 1290 Super Duke here in India, having had a taste of the Duke 790, we can only begin to image what a monster machine the 1290 Super Duke really is. We have brought you several crazy motorcycle mod-jobs over the last few weeks but what we have here is something that even blew our minds out. You’d only be mad if you were building a quad-bike based on a KTM 1290 Super Duke.
And that’s exactly what these folks at E-ATV Racing did. They took a 1290 Super Duke and gave it four wheels. Do not think it’s any less manic now with the addition of two wheels. E-ATV Racing has been building KTM-based ATVs for some time now and they have quite a few models up their sleeve. That includes various models based on the 690 Duke, 990 Duke, and even the 1190 RC8. But this E-ATV 1290 SD-R is really something else and it has to be one of the craziest models the company has ever built.
You’d notice that all the body panels of this ATV is exactly identical to the standard 1290 Super Duke including the headlights and even the instrument cluster. With no tampering to the bodywork, E-ATV has completely reworked the chassis, the suspension system and the rear swingarm section to give birth to this monster of a machine. Even the engine and the exhaust system seems without any modification. To give you a recap, this engine produces 177PS of power and even with the added weight and extra wheels, it can still propel this quad-bike from naught to 100kph in just 3 seconds.

This modification however isn’t just another garage job. The frame of this ATV has been built of chrome-moly tubes. The front suspension is connected to the frame via CNC milled powder-coated aluminium components. For suspension duties, there are two adjustable TFX shock absorbers at the front and a WP monoshock at the rear. For braking duties, this quad-bike uses Brembo discs with combined-ABS from Bosch.

Even after all these alterations, this Super quad-bike just weighs 238kg and when you put the 177PS of power in the mix, you can expect performance will be more than overwhelming. Some bloke was even brave enough to hit a speed of 218kph on this beast. Over 200kph on a quad-bike? We don’t know how’d that feel like. It even comes with a 23L fuel tank, so fuel station visits wouldn’t be so frequent either. But what’s the price you pay for such a thing? The E.-ATV 1290 SD-R is priced at 34,900 Euros (Rs 30 lakh). Expensive, sure it is, but what you get is no ordinary thing either.
